SITATION Completes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) Indicators Related to the Agriculture

September 13, 2021 | BPS Activities

The agricultural sector is one of the crucial sectors for Indonesia. How not, almost a third of Indonesia's population relies on the agricultural sector. Similar conditions also occur in South Kalimantan. So far, there are still several indicators of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) related to agriculture that are not available either to BPS and the ministries/agencies. Thus, the challenge of data needs in the agricultural sector for development is becoming increasingly dynamic. To answer this challenge, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) carried out the Integrated Agricultural Survey, which was later called the 2021 SITASI.
In general, the target of SITASI 2021 is to provide Minimum Set Core Data (MSCD) in agriculture and to provide data to support the measurement of several SDG's indicators related to agricultural business units using an integrated technology-based system at several stages of the survey process. The statistical units covered in the 2021 SItasi are agricultural business households (RTUP), non-household agricultural enterprises (NRT) and companies. Statistical units referred to as NRT are agricultural business units other than households and companies such as Islamic boarding schools that operate the agricultural sector, orphanages that operate the agricultural sector and others.
Implemented in all provinces in Indonesia, SITASI 2021 in South Kalimantan has 355 field officers who will record 7,300 RTUPs spread across all regencies/cities. To get the same concept and definition in data collection, field officers were given training which was held by all districts/cities in the range of 6-17 September 2021. Three questionnaires were used in data collection, namely (1) KOR module questionnaire which will produce indicators related to survey administration, production, production organization and others, (2) Economics module questionnaire, which will collect indicators of production costs, profitability, productivity, and others, and (3) Machine, equipment and asset module (MPA) questionnaire, the indicators collected include, among others, inputs labor, labor costs, wages and income of workers, labor and equipment and assets controlled or owned.
