Coordination of Regional Government Work Units for Synchronizing Food Price and Availability Data

Banjarbaru– Fachri Ubadiyah, S.E., M.P., Coordinator of the Distribution Statistics Function of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for South Kalimantan Province, along with his team, participated as resource persons in a consultation and coordination meeting of Regional Government Work Units (SKPD). This event was held in the Auditorium of the Food Security Agency of South Kalimantan Province on Monday, April 11, 2022. The consultation was conducted to ensure food availability and price stability ahead of the national religious holiday season.

The SKPD consultation and coordination activity began with an opening speech by the Head of the Food Security Agency of South Kalimantan Province, Ir. Fathurrahman. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of synergy among SKPDs at the provincial level and vertical institutions to provide fast and accurate food data.

During the presentation session, Fachri explained the methods for collecting price data and the key concepts to follow in data collection. Husnalia, S.ST., M.P., the Sub-Coordinator of the Agricultural Statistics Function at BPS South Kalimantan Province, added insights on estimating rice production data based on the KSA results.

Fachri reaffirmed BPS's commitment to supporting SKPD by offering guidance on effective data collection techniques as part of its role in sectoral statistical development.

The meeting was also attended by Yuriadi Ilmi, S.ST., Sub-Coordinator of the Consumer Price and Wholesale Price Statistics Function at BPS South Kalimantan Province. Representatives from several SKPDs were present, including the Departments of Agriculture, Livestock, Trade, the Port Authority, the Quarantine Agency, and the Public Logistics Agency (Bulog).
