BPS Participates as a Resource Speaker in FGD on Accelerating Development

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., a meeting was held in the South Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda hall to discuss the acceleration of South Kalimantan's economic development. Mr. Yos attended, alongside speakers from Bank Indonesia.

In his presentation, Mr. Yos discussed the Farmer’s Exchange Rate (NTP) in South Kalimantan. He provided a brief explanation of the NTP concept, its analysis, and recommendations for the local government.

Mr. Yos noted that the NTP in South Kalimantan decreased by 2.21% in April 2022 compared to March, from 112.41 to 109.93. However, the people’s plantation crop subsector saw an increase in NTP.

Mr. Yos briefly recommended actions for the local government, suggesting measures to increase farmers' income, such as providing insurance for farmers, distributing high-quality seeds and fertilizers, introducing new agricultural technologies, and organizing farmers institutionally. These efforts are expected to boost agricultural productivity in South Kalimantan.
