The complete enumeration for the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) is coming soon

The complete enumeration for the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) is approaching. Key strategic information that can be obtained from the full enumeration includes a directory of agricultural business actors (by name and address), geospatial agricultural statistics and agricultural potential by region, the demographic structure of farmers that can be used to identify millennial farmers, as well as agricultural land area by usage, ownership type, and irrigation, down to the village level.

The data produced can be applied in various areas, such as agroforestry, social forestry, farmer group memberships, information on received aid, access to insurance and microcredit (KUR), urban farming classification, and more. Additionally, the complete enumeration of ST2023 will generate important indicators such as SDGs 5.a.1 (secure rights to agricultural land) and components to calculate small-scale food producers, as well as SDGs indicator 2.3.1 (small-scale farmer productivity per workday).

From February 27 to March 2, 2023, Statistic of South Kalimantan Province conducted training for regional instructors (Inda) for the complete enumeration of individual agricultural enterprises (UTP) in ST2023. The training sessions were delivered online through the BPS Employee Competency Center's platform. Six national instructors (Innas) taught 90 prospective Inda participants (3 candidates for UTP CAPI and 87 for UTP PAPI) from across districts and cities in South Kalimantan Province. These Inda will later train 3,208 field officers for UTP ST2023 during the field training sessions.

During the training's opening, the Head of Statistic of South Kalimantan Province, Martin Wibisono, encouraged the prospective Inda participants to focus and engage with enthusiasm, ensuring they thoroughly understand the content of the questionnaire. This training aims to equip all participants with a uniform understanding, enabling them to effectively teach field officers during the complete enumeration of the 2023 Agricultural Census.
