Strengthening Cooperative and MSME Data, South Kalimantan Cooperative Office Supports SE 2026

To strengthen coordination and inter-agency synergy, the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of South Kalimantan Province held a meeting with the Head of the Cooperative and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Office of South Kalimantan Province on Friday, March 13, 2026.

The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration in strengthening data on cooperatives and UMKM, which are strategic sectors in the regional economy. UMKM are recognized as resilient and adaptive sectors that play a significant role in driving economic growth and improving community welfare.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the importance of having accurate, up-to-date, and integrated data to support evidence-based policymaking. High-quality data is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the condition and development of UMKM in South Kalimantan, serving as a foundation for more effective decision-making.

In addition, the Cooperative and UMKM Office expressed its support for the upcoming Economic Census to be conducted by BPS. This support is essential to ensure the smooth implementation of the activity and to increase participation from business actors in providing the required data.

Through the synergy established between BPS and the Cooperative and UMKM Office, it is expected that the provision of business data, particularly in the cooperative and UMKM sectors, will become more optimal. This effort also supports data-driven regional development and strengthens the role of UMKM as a key pillar of the South Kalimantan economy.
