Commission VIII Visits BPS South Kalimantan to Discuss DTSEN Updating

BANJARBARU – The Chair of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sudian Noor, paid a working visit to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) South Kalimantan Province on Thursday (18/06/2026). During the meeting, Sudian Noor emphasized the importance of providing the public with easy access to information regarding their welfare decile classification. According to him, such information serves as an important basis for ensuring that government assistance programs are distributed more accurately and effectively.

He also expressed hope that the utilization of decile data would support poverty alleviation efforts and community empowerment programs. Beyond social assistance beneficiaries, the data can also serve as a basis for supporting the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as various other empowerment initiatives.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of BPS South Kalimantan Province, Ahmad Mudzakkir, explained that the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN) is the result of integrating several national databases, including the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), Targeting for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Elimination (P3KE), and the National Socioeconomic Registry (Regsosek).

Members of the public who wish to check or propose updates to their data may do so through several government-provided channels, including the Cek Bansos application, SIKS-CC, SIKS-NG, and the 171 Call Center. Every proposed update undergoes a field verification process before being periodically re-ranked by BPS.

On the same occasion, BPS South Kalimantan Province also conducted outreach regarding the ongoing 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). The outreach covered data collection methods, including self-enumeration and direct door-to-door visits to households and businesses, which will continue through August 31, 2026. Through this activity, BPS collects information on business conditions, household characteristics, and individual information to support the production of more accurate social and economic data for policymaking purposes.

In addition to discussing DTSEN and SE2026, BPS South Kalimantan Province presented the utilization of census data and the Input-Output (I-O) Table in supporting regional development planning and investment growth. The discussion also highlighted the use of DTSEN in the implementation of the Sekolah Rakyat program, including efforts to minimize exclusion errors so that social assistance and services can reach their intended beneficiaries more effectively.

Through the synergy between BPS, the Government, the DPR RI, and various stakeholders, the quality of Indonesia’s socioeconomic data is expected to continue improving. Accurate and up-to-date data serve as an essential foundation for formulating effective, targeted policies that contribute to improving public welfare.
