Regional Instructor Training (Inda) Updating the Wilkerstat Geospatial Framework and Load ST2023

In 2023, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will hold the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) which is carried out regularly every ten years. One of the big agendas in the preparation of ST2023 activities, BPS in 2022 will carry out updating the master framework as a basis for planning in the implementation of ST2023.

Unlike the previous Agricultural Census, the master framework that was built was not only on the content of the Statistical Work Area (Wilkerstat), but also developed a geospatial framework for agricultural land. Based on the activity plans that have been prepared in the ST2023 Road Map, the preparation of the geospatial framework will be carried out in 2021 and 2022. In 2021, the ST2023 Geospatial Framework Study has been carried out, followed by the preparation of the geospatial framework. In 2022, the updating of the Geospatial framework and Wilkerstat ST2023 framework aims to update the agricultural geospatial framework, namely in the form of areas/land that have agricultural potential, as well as updating the Wilkerstat map and content to the local environmental level (SLS) and census blocks (BS), as a basis for the implementation of ST2023.

The updating of the geospatial framework in 2022 consists of field activities to be carried out in March 2022, followed by processing activities which are planned to be carried out in April 2022. To maintain the quality of the results of this activity, BPS South Kalimantan Province has carried out Regional Instructor Training activities. Geospatial Framework and Statistical Work Area Load (Wilkerstat) ST2023. This activity was carried out for three days effective on 7 – 9 February 2022 which was attended by representatives from all Regency/City BPS in South Kalimantan and from BPS South Kalimantan Province. The training took place virtually through BPS Zoom Meeting and E-Learning. Furthermore, through this training, the results are expected to improve the quality of wilkerstat which is useful for the implementation of ST2023.
