Statistic of South Kalimantan Province Provides Data Insights at Provincial Health Data Validation Meeting
Banjarmasin – The Statistic of South Kalimantan Province, represented by Senior Statistician and Coordinator of Social Statistics, Ir. Nurul Sabah, MP, served as a speaker at the 2022 Provincial Health Data Validation Meeting organized by the South Kalimantan Health Office. The event took place on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Hotel Aria Barito in Banjarmasin, with participants from health offices across the province.
In his opening remarks, Acting Head of the South Kalimantan Health Office, H. Sukamto, emphasized the crucial role of data in health planning. He stated that health planning should not only focus on facility-based approaches but also adopt an evidence-based perspective. The Statistic of South Kalimantan Province plays an essential role in providing health data and indicators derived from its census and survey activities. This data serves as a reference for monitoring and evaluating health programs and forms the basis for future planning.
During the meeting, Nurul Sabah presented population data and indicators from the 2020 Population Census, health indicators sourced from the National Social and Economic Survey (Susenas), and introduced the South Kalimantan BPS website, which offers various resources to facilitate access to released health data and indicators. Participants expressed that the website is user-friendly and free of charge, making data search much easier.
