Benchmarking Study on Sampling Techniques by BPK East Kalimantan at BPS South Kalimantan

Banjarbaru, December 30, 2024 – The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) East Kalimantan Representative conducted a benchmarking visit to the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) South Kalimantan Provincial Office to study sampling techniques for audit sampling in regional government financial report examinations.

The event, held in the Video Conference Room of BPS South Kalimantan, was attended by the BPK East Kalimantan team, including Fadjar Prajidno (Junior Auditor), Nur Wasilah (First Auditor), and Achmad Arif Wijaya Kusuma (First Auditor). The BPS South Kalimantan team was represented by Taufik Akbar (Intermediate Computer Administrator), Abdurrahman (Intermediate Statistician), and Diyang Gita Cendikia (Junior Statistician).

The primary goal of the visit was to gain deeper insights into the methodologies, techniques, and procedures for sampling, particularly for audit sampling in financial examinations.

The BPS South Kalimantan team delivered a presentation on sampling methods, including probability sampling and non-probability sampling. They elaborated on the stages involved in sampling, such as defining the population, determining the sampling frame and methods, calculating sample size, and conducting the sampling process.

An interactive discussion followed, addressing various real-life cases where these sampling techniques might be applied. At the conclusion of the event, the BPK East Kalimantan team expressed their appreciation for the informative presentation and valuable insights provided by BPS South Kalimantan.

This activity is expected to strengthen collaboration between BPK and BPS in supporting improved regional financial management.
