Consumer Price Index of Kalimantan Selatan Province 2025

Inflation is an important indicator in measuring changes in the prices of household consumption goods and services, calculated using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) with a base year of 2022=100. In 2025, inflation in Kalimantan Selatan Province was recorded at 3.66 percent (year-on-year), higher than the national average, with a relatively consistent movement pattern consisting of 8 times inflation and 4 times deflation. Inflationary pressures primarily came from the personal care and other services group due to rising gold prices, as well as the food, beverage, and tobacco group, which affected the prices of key commodities such as rice, chilies, and fish. In general, inflation dynamics are influenced by seasonal factors, government policies, and distribution and production conditions. Therefore, inflation control needs to be based on strengthening local production, smooth distribution, and price stabilization to maintain people's purchasing power and support economic growth.
